Grounds Maintenance Manager
Grounds Maintenance Manager to £35’000
Our client is one the fastest growing facilities management companies in the South East of England concentrating largely in the public sector specialising in providing services to County Councils, Parish, District and Borough Councils, Universities and Colleges, Health Centres and Hospitals.
The Role: Working directly for a public authority you will be responsible for managing Grounds Maintenance, operations ensuring that these services are delivered by teams of grounds maintenance staff in line with contractual and statutory requirements. With your team you will be able to deliver a first class service facilitated with your proven ability to inspire and motivate your team to achieve contractual and compliant results.
By leading the frontline delivery team and ensuring each team member is able to meet their objectives you will ensure successful integration between your team and all other parts of the business with ultimate local responsibility for customer and stakeholder relationships.
In your duties you will also be able to comfortably maintain the necessary administrative and system tasks to manage your workflow, and the upkeep of budgets and records and reports that will enable you and your team to manage performance.
The position requires mobility throughout South East Essex, where the contracts are currently located.
Ideal Candidate: We are looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance manager with not only the Experience of Fine Turf & Grounds Maintenance, but a proven track record in office based reporting, pricing and budgets.
It is essential that you are familiar with the operation of relevant horticultural and ground maintenance machinery with an outstanding ability to build respect and motivate your teams to deliver results through others.
As a hand-on manager you will also have willingness to step forward and ‘get stuck in’ building rapport and respect with your team.
In addition you will be able to work effectively with suppliers who provide services and support to the operation helping to ensure the success of the service with a ‘right first time’ approach ensuring excellent attention to detail and on time completion of work.
Knowledge of Street Cleansing and Building Cleaning would be an advantage
Key Skills and Experience:
• Full UK Driving license
• Knowledge in all areas of Fine Turf maintenance as well as general Grounds Maintenance.
• An associated qualification in Horticulture
• Effective management of teams to meet contract specifications
• Developing colleagues
• Good PC skills and knowledge of budgets, pricing and reporting
• Experience of working with public bodies e.g. Local Authorities.
• Willing to relocate to Essex if needed
