Job Description

Are you a qualified or part qualified Quantity Surveyor looking to work full time within the construction industry?

 

Our client, a small to medium sized company based in Leigh on Sea is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their established friendly and incredibly busy team! Due to company growth and workload expansion they are looking for someone with experience in either industrial, commercial or residential building construction. The very nature of the company’s work ensures that no two projects are quite the same, as such you need to have the ability to manage a variety of different projects at any given time, and be able to handle the financial and mathematical details of such a busy and demanding role.

 

Our client will need you to have a good understanding of the construction trade with a passion for the industry and your work, enabling you to focus autonomously on all the challenges of such a demanding role. In turn, you can be sure to feel like a valued part of a well-established team within a company able to offer you long term personal and career development.

 

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday within a peaceful area of Leigh on Sea in Essex. The current business projects are averaging 1.5m in value and it is advantageous if you have experience of working multiple projects. The salary for this position will be commensurate with your industry level experience.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Appropriate qualification – either a relevant degree, professional accreditation or alternative relevant experience/qualification
  • Good knowledge of construction costs, contracts and variation orders
  • The ability to measure and estimate building and material costs for projects
  • Experience of preparing relevant reports i.e. about projected building costs for clients
  • Experience of studying building plans
