Machine Operative | Southend on Sea
Shifts patterns Monday to Friday, 2pm–10pm OR Sunday to Thursday, 10pm–6am
We are seeking experienced Machine Operatives to join a friendly, hardworking production team. Due to ongoing growth, our client is seeking experienced operators skilled in handling specialist production equipment, including cutting and folding machinery.
Role Responsibilities
Guillotine Operation
- Preparation, operation, and maintenance of Polar 115/137 guillotine machines (or similar models)
- Cutting work to precise specifications while maintaining high accuracy and quality standards
Folding Operation
- Preparation, operation, and maintenance of folding equipment such as T800, T500, T72 and B123 machines
- Carrying out parallel, cross, and signature folding to a high standard
General Duties
- Ensuring all work meets production deadlines
- Maintaining excellent quality across all output
- Keeping machinery clean, safe, and well maintained
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production team
Role Requirements
- Previous experience in print finishing (preferred) or machine operation is (essential)
- Ability to operate and maintain guillotines and/or folding machinery
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced production environment
