Accounts Assistant | Rainham | Up to £40k pa FTE (£20k pro-rated) | 10am – 2pm Mon-Fri
One to One Personnel are seeking a highly motivated Accounts Assistant with a strong work ethic who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The role requires resilience, attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure, particularly during busy month-end reporting periods. The successful candidate will join a friendly and dynamic, results-driven finance team where collaboration, accountability and meeting deadlines are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the purchase ledger function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of all transactions
- Ensure all supplier invoices are accurately coded and appropriately authorised
- Proactively ensure all costs are captured in the correct accounting period
- Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy of ledger balances
- Act as the primary point of contact for supplier queries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support smooth processing and timely query resolution
- Assist in the preparation and posting of accruals journals
- Support the maintenance of accruals schedules, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Maintain intercompany reconciliation schedules across multiple entities
- Reconcile intercompany accounts, ensuring balances are accurate and aligned between business units
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies through proactive liaison with other business units
- Contribute to improving intercompany processes and controls as the role develops
- Liaise proactively with internal departments, particularly the administration team, to resolve purchase order and invoice queries
- Provide support to the wider finance team and assist with ad hoc tasks as required
What You’ll Need
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant position
- Experience preparing month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Purchase Ledger experience is essential.
- Experience using Sage 50 Accounts.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work to tight month-end deadlines.
