Accounts Manager (Accounting)

Full Time - Essex

£65,000 per annum - depending on experience and qualifications

Are you ACA/ACCA qualified with proven practice experience and looking for a new opportunity within the Essex area?

 

We are partnering with a well-established independent accountancy firm who service a multitude of sectors within and around the Essex area.

Our client is seeking a qualified Accounts Manager to join their team.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and must be comfortable leading and mentoring a team. The successful candidate will have a sufficient practice experience and a wealth of management experience.

Duties include

• Communicating with clients to ensure needs are met with regards to all   assignments
• Managing workload appropriately with the consideration of outsourcing as and when required
• Preparing budgets, timings and sign offs with clients to ensure these are followed
• Attending client meetings
• Management of assignment lifecycle
• Delegating and reviewing work of team to ensure key areas are met
• Managing staff who are working closely on assignments
• Mentoring and developing team
• Communicating with Partners on any client issues that are identified to ensure minimal review points and high quality file completion

• Complete probation reviews and appraisals in a timely manner

• Various ad-hoc departmental responsibilities as and when required

 

Experience required


• Accounts experience working with clients across a variety of sectors

• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English

• Extensive statutory accounts and management accounts experience within a Mid-Tier Practice is vital
• Portfolio management experience is essential
• Awareness of the latest UK GAAP accounting standards
• Team management experience is crucial with ability to lead and mentor team
• Must be IT literate including Xero, Sage and CaseWare (CCH would be advantageous)

• Excellent knowledge of VAT is a must

• Full, clean driving license is essential

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with solid technical ability
