Caretaker

Our client is part of a large local organisation and is looking for an experienced Caretaker to join their busy team.

Previous experience is required, and you MUST have a full clean driving license. Being over 21 for insurance purposes is essential as use of company vehicle maybe required at certain times.

Your duties will include:

• Carry out work of a general handyman nature, reporting to the on-site manager on arrival for instruction. 
• Report any defect or repair needed in communal areas to the relevant section.  Where appropriate, take such action as will either temporarily or permanently prevent further damage until proper repairs can be affected. 
• Sweep, clean and wash staircases, landings, lifts, lobbies, entrances, car parks, grass and shrub areas, and arrange for the removal of all items of bulk rubbish deposited on estates. 
• Keep all gullies and inspection chamber access covers clean and clear. 
• Sweep around and disinfect refuse hoppers and chambers. 
• Remove and change refuse containers as necessary. 
• Remove or segregate hazards from all areas and make safe where necessary. 
• Subject to relevant regulations replace lighting lamps and tubes to all communal areas. 
• Become acquainted with the position of all stop cocks and draw off taps to the communal parts of the building(s) and to be reasonably aware of the location of those within flats. 
• Inspect daily or as instructed by the Team Leader, the communal services and fittings. 
• Inspect fire equipment regularly and report any defects. 
• Accept and pass on any repair reported by a tenant, including details of access arrangements. 
• Drive the Clients vehicles when necessary and to keep the vehicle in a clean condition carrying out routine checks, such as fluid levels and tyre pressures as appropriate. 

Job type: Temp to perm 37 hrs per week

• £11.56 per hour

Location: Southend on Sea

Hours:

• Week 1
• Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 16:00pm
• Friday - 8:00am to 12:00 (Noon)
• Saturday – 3 hours

 

Week 2

• Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 16:00pm
• Friday – 8:00am to 15:30pm
• Sunday – 3 hours
