Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer | Southend | 40 Hours P/W | £45k + 20% bonus

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Electrical Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Southend. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving production equipment, responding to breakdowns, delivering engineering projects, and driving continuous improvements across the site.

Working closely with senior management, you'll help enhance plant performance, safety, and operational efficiency while liaising with suppliers and supporting the ongoing development of the manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide engineering support and information for the Engineer’s, Operations Manager and MD to support machinery breakdown repairs, maintenance and development of the manufacturing operations and business needs. 
  • To assess, repair, maintain and develop machinery and equipment. Researching and data collecting as applicable.
  • Assess project requirements. Drive forward projects through to completion. Producing relevant reports to applicable team, presenting solutions and project work in structured format.
  • To provide manufacturing support relating to plant/process efficiency, safety, and product quality as directed by the Operations Manager/MD.
  • To ensure engineering workshop procedures and equipment are developed and maintained in a satisfactory condition; that related environment, health and safety issues, standards and policies are maintained and adhered to.
  • Any other existing or new tasks needed to meet the business operations requirements / objectives that are in keeping with post-holders skills and training, primarily in an engineering capacity.
  • Compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures, works instructions and safe systems of work are mandatory.
  • Liaising with suppliers, achieving optimum solutions. 
  • Provide reports to applicable stakeholders across full scope of the business.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience of PLC’s – Siemens Type S5 and S7
  • Experience of working with Eurotherm and Uni Drives
  • Time service Electrical Engineer
  • 17th Edition Electrical Installation or above
  • BTEC or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Multi skilled in both mechanical/electrical disciplines
  • Self-motivated, solutions led, methodical, team player.  

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, alternating weeks:

Week 1:  6am – 2pm Week 2:  2pm – 10pm

These hours and starting and finishing times may vary from time to meet the needs of the business so flexibility will be required.
