Freight Sales Coordinator | Basildon | £28,000 to £30,000 | Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm
The Company
Our client is a growing freight and logistics company based in Basildon, looking to recruit an ambitious Freight Sales Coordinator to join their friendly team.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with freight forwarding sales experience who enjoys building customer relationships, delivering excellent service, and making a real impact within a fast-paced and varied role.
The Role
As a Freight Sales Coordinator, you will support the sales team by preparing quotations, managing existing client relationships, and assisting with business development. You'll liaise with customers regarding current and future shipments, provide follow-up support to the external sales team, and help deliver excellent customer service. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, commercially minded, and confident managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced freight environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Raising competitive quotations for overseas agents and partners.
- Preparing quotations and monitoring FOB (Free on Board) and EXW (Ex Works) shipments for existing clients.
- Proactively contacting existing customers to follow up on current shipments and discuss upcoming freight requirements.
- Supporting the external sales team by following up on customer visits, quotations, and sales opportunities.
- Maintaining and updating sales and purchase tariffs to ensure pricing remains accurate and competitive.
- Working alongside the social media team to contribute to monthly targeted sales and marketing campaigns.
- Producing accurate monthly sales reports and performance updates for the Directors.
- Providing administrative and operational support to the wider Sales Department as required.
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities to maximise business.
- Delivering excellent customer service and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of one years' experience in a sales role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- A good understanding of freight operations and industry terminology, including FOB and EXW shipments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong customer service skills with a proactive and professional approach.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and internal systems.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
