Implementation Manager
Medical Equipment Projects
Remote | Live in Derby/Surrounding Area | Monday to Friday | 37.5 Hours
Lead the projects that bring vital medical equipment into use. We’re looking for an experienced Implementation Manager to coordinate diagnostic imaging and other medical equipment installations across NHS sites. You’ll oversee several projects at once, bringing together clinical teams, estates departments, contractors and internal specialists to deliver each installation on time and within budget.
The role is expected to be primarily based around Derby. You’ll need to attend site weekly and support other UK sites when required, so this opportunity is best suited to someone who lives within approximately an hour of Derby. UK travel is regular, typically at least twice a week, with occasional international travel.
What you’ll be doing
- Plan and manage multiple medical equipment installation projects, from initial coordination through to completion.
- Build project schedules, resource plans and practical delivery strategies.
- Track deadlines, budgets, risks and changes, taking action when plans need to adapt.
- Coordinate with NHS stakeholders, clinical end users, estates teams, building contractors and internal colleagues.
- Lead client meetings and act as the escalation point for implementation issues.
- Keep stakeholders informed through clear updates, project documentation and management reports.
What we’re looking for
- Essential experience installing, commissioning and/or servicing high-value diagnostic imaging or other medical equipment.
- Experience working with building contractors, estates departments and clinical end users on equipment installations.
- A track record of managing several small to medium-sized projects at the same time, ideally in a public sector or NHS setting.
- An understanding of design and construction processes and the challenges involved in working on live healthcare sites.
- Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills, with the confidence to work with NHS staff at all levels.
- Commercial awareness, attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
- A relevant professional or project management qualification would be welcome, but proven hands-on experience is particularly important.
