Warehouse Operator, Basildon, Essex

Our client is a privately-owned global organisation specialising in the formulation, manufacture, and global distribution of fuel and lubricant additives, base oils, marker dyes, and specialty products for the oil industry.

Looking to recruit an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their growing team at their new warehouse in Basildon.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

The warehouse supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the warehouse and monitoring the productivity of its staff. You must be committed to maintain the business performance target and have a hands on approach to support the warehouse team during busy periods.

Working in a busy environment where priorities can change at a moment’s notice, the role provides a varied workday that includes:

  • Overseeing receiving and dispatching procedures for incoming and outgoing orders
  • Assigning workloads and daily tasks to the warehouse operative
  • Communicating with customer operations and the blend plant on shipping, receiving questions and troubleshooting problems
  • Monitoring warehouse operations to ensure safety procedures are being always followed
  • Receive and process new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents
  • Inspect receivables for defects, damages, or missing items
  • Properly inventory incoming goods
  • Move and transfer products between various sections of the warehouse as needed
  • Use flexi truck, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand carts, etc. to transfer and deliver goods when required
  • Perform detailed manual inventory counts
  • Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders
  • Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and in working order
  • Arrange for repair/servicing for any equipment malfunctions/general maintenance
  • Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks
  • Ensuring the warehouse is clean and maintained

 

Picking and packing products can involve a substantial amount of manual handling including bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching, and lifting. Having a good range of mobility is important to ensure you can work safely within health and safety regulations without placing undue strain on your body.

 

The ideal Candidate will have:

  • Previous supervisory and warehouse experience essential
  • Forklift and flexi truck certification and current licence
  • Physical staminal; must be able to lift min 20 kgs at a time
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Able to work shifts
  • Computer literate
 
  • Ability to multitask and delegate is essential
  • Excellent verbal communicator

DBS Checks

In conjunction with the Company’s Transport Security Plan, employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: £28,000

Hours:

08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday
